Defenseman Chris Lee bounced around the minor leagues, with stops in Florida, Albany, Bridgeport, Omaha and Iowa before latching on with the Penguins in 2009. His lone season with Wilkes-Barre was fairly successful, as Lee appeared in 79 or 80 regular season games, and led the team’s blueliners with 39 points (9+30).
But the lure of Europe called, and the following season, Lee traveled to Germany where he joined the Cologne Sharks (you were wondering where the fish was going to fit in, weren’t you) for the 2010-11 campaign. He played in 43 of 52 games that season, recording 21 points (6+15). He spent the following four seasons playing on the continent, including stops in Sweden and Russia.
